? ? ? ? Hey bud we are on the right track for this.? ?So let me correct few things starting with my fricking name which is spelled out in the email!? ?Shawn Munns not Sean Munz and I will not go off on you
for being a moron not seeing that.??
There is not any one person taking care of each item, this is a group effort so if you see something that we haven't covered yet please chime in.
1.? Field reservation - Stu and Caden can work together on this but my suggestion is Sexauer park not the soccer fields down south.? If you have ever been around the crews from 1991 to 2000, we should not
be around families and kids especially at the 30th.? A lot of us haven't seen each other in a while so it is my opinion?that we should have a park and pitch to ourselves since there will be alcohol at the pitch.? We don't need goalposts so it will be fine.?
Lastly Van Fischback?was a bank president in Brookings and he played rugby and supported our club in its infancy.? He would even say not to go to where families will more than likely be.
2. Canopy tent- sideline refreshments:? Rodney, Fiala and Lantz? (how the hell did you get these guys names correct and you screwed mine up so much?) are more than generous with what they offered the club
for the 30th.? Those 3 do not need to be involved on the coordinating of that stuff, we need to let them know how many people are showing and where to go.? Donating what they are donating is more than enough and we do not need to put anything else on their
plate.? They are very busy people!
3. Reserve Sully's back patio for social.? ?I do agree we can go to the bar at some point but if the club has ruggers under 21, I do not want to put Sully's at risk of allowing underage people in.? They can
lose their license.? My opinion is we hang out at the park for a good portion of the day, grill out and drink there, that way the active club can recruit potential younger ruggers to show up to see what the club is about.? From '91 to at least '98 has an impressive
group of professionals now that we want to show off to potential active club members and the actives in general.? Again, my opinion and please chime in if you feel differently as there is not a bad opinion.? We can reserve Sully's on Friday night and Flemmer
that an old friend of the club back in the day Garner Hansen owns a bar there and we should spend some time there as that will help the actives in the long run.? Definitely do Sully's also.
4. Merchandise:? Flemmer has some contacts that can help us set up an online store, which I am sure more of you do to.? I would like the storefront to be controlled by the old boys under either SeDuSe U rugby
or Rabbit rugby.? That way we don't have to worry about the university bitching about it or have any copyright infringements.? Plus we had some awesome shirts back in the day that probably are not PC now but I don't give a fuck and everyone should have cool
shit.? ?So anyone with online store experience, have a T-shirt printer contact, etc please help out.? I would prefer if we use someone locally back there so we support local business.? We will use profits to support the club and non profits in the area.? I
would like a few alumni ( Board of directors) that are still tied to back?there to control the bank account and decide how to distribute the funds.? ?Any volunteers for a BOD position?? I think we need one if we turn the club or alumni portion into a 501c3.?
?I can write the directors and officers insurance for that to.?
5. Fundraising:? In my opinion again (please chime in here), fundraising should not be run by a guy that lives in Denver CO and only comes back to South Dakota for first weddings and funerals.? I am not a
good choice. This should be run locally as it will be easier to raise whatever funds with businesses that know the club and want to support the club.? ?As far as expenses for the 30th anniversary, I am not worried about that at all.? We will total up the costs
and email the alumni group and I do not see a problem with guys chipping in.? Again, we have a lot of very successful and impressive people from the early days with money now.? I do not see that as an issue but please speak up if you do.??
6. Insurance-? Well it just so happens that I own an insurance agency that is licensed in all 50 states so I will take care of that.? We need to set up the club as a 501c3 so the donations are a write off.?
Does anyone know how to do that?? This is where we actually need some help!!!!!!
7. I do like this idea SIm.? But this shouldn't be a 1 person per 5 years thing as most of us started in different years in Brookings.? ?I just saw Tate and Fiala just add a couple of guys that need to be
at this event and I really appreciate them doing that.? ?Most of us from the early days did not have a home pc, email address or cell phone back then and there was definitely no social media shit either, so if we can get 20 plus guys already on the Excel spreadsheet
and email list already, I think we are on a good pace.? ?I would like to ask everyone to please think about who you played with, partied with or even seen in a SDSU Rugby/ Golf jacket (E Johnson) and put them on the MIA list and let's try to find them. I know
some of you are on that social media crap and can find some of these people.? If you are on the spreadsheet and
[email protected] list please remove yourself from the MIA tab.? The goal is just to use the group email for communication and the spreadsheet as a back up.?
8. Social Media - I believe we still have a facebook page.? Can we get a few people to run that as well as the other social media stuff to get the word out more please?? That would be you younger ruggers that
just graduated and have no money yet that I think should run it.??
9.? Hotel rooms- We should block out rooms at one of the hotels for that weekend soon!? ?I am betting we can reserve?enough rooms to get a group price for the weekend.? There will more than likely be plenty
of families with our alumni and guys like me that want a room to crash in.? ?Does anyone have any connections up there or can someone start the process with that please???
10.? Memorabilia: Try to dig up old jersey's, t-shirts, etc that we can re screen (not sure if that is even possible) and sell on the store front.? We can have kit bags, balls, etc.? I would also like to frame
a couple of jerseys to hang in Sully's and Garner's bar if they will allow us to do that.? I think having a reminder of the club is a great idea in bars for recruiting and fundraising.?
If you are a recent grad and have no spare dough, volunteer to help some other way (store front, social media, making calls, etc).? ?I don't think any one of us was flush with cash when we graduated. At least
I was a broke dick I know that.? What you younger guys need to realize, we have all been in your position and now a lot of us old boys are very well connected across the country as well as own companies, manage employees, etc.? Get involved and show initiative!?

photo.? Meister who has known me at this point for a few years asks "Grinder, they screwed up this picture, they have some guy named Shawn Munns under the photo and not you".? ?Very funny if anyone remembers that.

I'm really excited for this guys. Unfortunately, as a typical rugby player, my enthusiasm is dramatically under-served by my organizational skills. On that note, please add anything to this to do list which I have not thought of:?
* Reserve fields -? Caden Runia, current captain / president, has said he will be in touch with Fishback soccer fields on the south side of town.
Stu Hansen is on field reservation duty as well.
* Canopy tent?+ sideline refreshments - Heath Rodney
and Rob Fiala can coordinate this?
* Reserve Sully's back patio for social - Simeon Brown (that's me) will coordinate with Sully
* Provide food for social - Tate Lantz will coordinate the beef, also Heath Rodney and
Rob Fiala will be involved with that food as well I imagine?
* Organize t-shirts, custom rugby balls, other merch - Ross Flemmer
* Fundraising - Who's gonna pay for this? Not sure what all expenses we might incur. Might suggest
Sean Munz be in charge of the purse strings.?
* Insurance?? - I wonder if we need any insurance lined up. Might be a question we have to answer after talking to the Fishback fields where we will play
* Continued recruitment -? I suggest we break it down as follows. Get one person from each time period to hit the phone tree and really try to build the network.
