Display question?
eyelessmisfit
Finally got my 5" display from buydisplay, but it doesn't look much like the pictures in the manual, (slightly blurry photo). Mine came with a tiny connector, but no labels, and the left edge appears to have mounting holes for 3 edge connectors.
Wonder if anyone has more detail on connecting displays? Thanks Ron W0QVJ |

开云体育Ron,It look correct by your picture. ?You will not use any of the connectors pre-installed but you’ll be soldering (using header pins or directly) to JP1 and JP2 which should be empty through holes on the right side of the display if the display ribbon is at bottom. ?JP2 only gets the INT signal and JP1 gets the rest. As I recall, most of ours took around 3 weeks to get here. However, if you ordered in January, all bets are off. The Chinese New Year sees many businesses closed down for almost a full two weeks. That would make a huge difference in not only processing the order, but working off the backlog. Jack, W8TEE

开云体育Just got a note back from BuyDisplay. They are on holiday until Feb. 14th (Chinese New Year). ?Surprisingly they have replied to me during this time. They will catch up starting the Feb 15th or shortly after.Jack’s estimate is about right from my experience. Pete WK8S

开云体育Pete, Thanks a lot! Think that clarifies things enough that I might get myself into real trouble! ;) Thanks again, Ron W0QVJ Sent from my Galaxy Tab? On page 9 Figure 2-23 of?JackAl AssemblyManual (Ver16)-Section 2.docx shows the Display Wiring for the 7" and 5" displays. |
We're not sure why this happens. You should be able to move one "out of the way". Jack, W8TEE

Thanks for the clarification. The reason I was confused was when I printed the Assembly Docs out some of the images got superimposed on one another and the Display figure was barely showing.? Guy WB7SZI |
Are the JackAl docs different than the BuyDisplay docs? Try to get a close up of the connector edge and post that. Jack, W8TEE
