Re: JackAl Assembly manual
Thanks, Mike. Al and I are so busy with another project, I haven't gotten around to a rewrite of the manual.

Re: JackAl Assembly manual
Excellent. I was just getting ready to post. After several months of not getting much bench time, I'm back in the saddle. I need the latest versions of the assembly manual. Thanks, Mike.

JackAl Assembly manual
I put a new file on the group. I took the latest versions of parts 1 & 2, combined them and added bookmarks and a table of contents with links.

Re: USB 40M
Hi Rick:
First, nice implementation...looks good! Actually, I thought I had that sideband issue anticipated because of the popularity of the digital modes (FT8). I'll check into that and post the fix

Re: Display Protection Boards
I did not say that mods are "needed", only answering a question that was asked. The "protection mod" is addressed on the JackAl groups' site. I'm sure it's possible to connect a power source

Re: Display Protection Board.
The board has not been changed, so you should add this on. We will need to work off our inventory before we can add the change.

Display Protection Board.
I have just ordered my board and wondered, are the display protection mods now incorporated in the main PCB or do I have to build this as a separate item / is a additional board supplied?

Re: Display size and touch detection
I prefer the 5" as it is large enough to use, but keeps the case size down a bit which may be important for portable operation. Also, the smaller screen does draw a little less power and is less

Display size and touch detection
Any thoughts on whether the 5" or 7" screen size is better?
I would prefer the smaller size I think as there ar more case options but any thoughts from those who have tried either or both?? Much

Protection board
I received a board from Vince and have a question about C4. The PCB silkscreen looks like it should be
a polarized cap but the picture Vince sent with the board has a ceramic cap at C4. The schematic
