With no heat sink it takes seconds for the 3.3v regulator to go into thermal shutdown. After you attach a heatsink this should not happen. Jim KM4TXR

We have almost doubled the size of the 3.3V regulator because it does get very toasty! Because I run the ?BITX at 12V, it's that regulator that needs an air flow more than the PA transistors. Right
