JackAL voltage regulator
As I pursue the remaining parts for my JackAL build, I note that the 3.3V reg is specified as being a?Texas Instruments, LM1086IT-3.3/NOPB.
I may be confusing this with another part of the circuit, but I think some people have mentioned that this part may be marginal with its 1.3A rating. I see that Mouser list a 2.0A 3.3V reg in a TO=220 package: Would that part be more suitable? -- MC VK1MC |

I'm glad that there is interest in the boards,
we can do them any way you like.? I don't want anyone else to lose a board to whatever transients that toasted my 7 inch display. I guess time to make a list of call signs this weekend, and get all the boards on order at least.. I'll be populating the 3 that i bought early next week. Vince n2aie |

Re: Display Protection boards
BTW in Jack's message with the gerber files and the BOM, he definitely says that this is for SMD components. Brian N8BDB On Wed, May 15, 2019 at 12:46 AM Brian Bowling via Groups.Io <bowlingb=[email protected]> wrote:

The same for me.? I can build it but if we can get a bulk purchase on components I would like to go that route.? I thought Al was still working on some of the finer details on this board though.? Is this considered the final design? On Tue, May 14, 2019 at 10:06 PM Roy Appleton <twelveoclockhigh@...> wrote:

Re: Display Protection boards
开云体育I didn’t think about them being smt. Are they smt if so I might like them populated.

Re: Display Protection boards
开云体育I’ll build mine. I’ve already got the diodes and resistors. I don’t have a zener yet but that’s easy to get.
