The biggest problem with this isn't It's current capability, but it power dissipation. Even at 1 amp draw It's being asked to dissipate almost 10 watts. Touch a 10 watt resistor if you want to know how hot that is. 73's

As I pursue the remaining parts for my JackAL build, I note that the 3.3V reg is specified as being a?
Texas Instruments, LM1086IT-3.3/NOPB. I may be confusing this with another part of the circuit, but I think some people have mentioned that this part may be marginal with its 1.3A rating.
I see that Mouser list a 2.0A 3.3V reg in a TO=220 package:
Would that part be more suitable?
