What happens if you connect 12V to the power jack?

Finally getting around to this project.? Wonder if anyone has suggestions about where I might have gone wrong. I'm going though the "Initial Checkout and Troubleshooting Procedure", and all is fine through step 3.? Just to try out the Teensy, I installed the Blink program.? I cut the trace between VIN and VUSB, put the Teensy on a breadboard (disconnected from the computer), and after applying 5V and ground, I see the LED blinking.? Then I inserted the Teensy into the JackAl, applied power and I don't see the blink.? I confirmed 5V and 3.3V are present on the correct Teensy pins. My setup can be seen in the attached photo. I am using external supplies for 5V and 3.3V temporarily.? Nothing else is connected to the board at this time, and the Audio Shield is not yet installed.? Should the Teensy be functional in this arrangement?? Is there anything obvious that I'm missing? This group has been pretty quiet for a while.?
