All I meant by ¡°attaching¡± a Donohue exit permit is that it is a separate exit permit that is issued in conjunction with an entry permit at a specific trailhead within Yosemite.

Bear boxes have been out there for years. The requirement to carry a bear canister likely arose because too many people were using them at some sites, thus necessitating canisters.
