It does indeed seem easier this year. I booked a Kearsarge Pass permit this morning on the dot at 10 am EST. Four hours later, there are still four spot available. Lots of both Cottonwood permits too.

I think there's a glitch in recreation.gov. even at 10,:15 there were two permits entry Mono Pass exit whiney available for Sept 1. But since Aug 29, 30, 31 and Sept 1 came available at the same time,
