Specific to John Ladds, comments on his Yosemite hike, I can verify the issue of hot temps in September. Our recently scheduled labor day hike from Kearsarge to OV was canceled due to the fire/smoke.

Recreation.gov seems to be the way all permits are going, for better or worse. It¡¯s amazing how they build in the rules for each permit, with so many rules out there. If all permits open up at 7:00
