Put in my first Yosemite lottery application today for the July 4th week. (not for the JMT, some in-park hikes)
I noticed they only have "Happy Isle>Past LYV (Donahue Pass eligible)" as well as "Happy Isles to LYV".
That's a little concerning that the JMT permits for Happy Isles are part of the same pool of permits that people wanting to camp around the Half Dome junction or down towards Merced Lake. I know that they say the Donahue Pass exit permits are the same number, but now people not doing the JMT will likely find getting the LYV pass through permits harder to get.
Not the end of the world, but might affect future hikes for me.
Not too fond of the $10 lottery fee that is non refundable even if you don't get a permit either.
