The following reply came to me from the Inyo NF
address. It's somewhat vague, since I had a two-part
question: 1) fine for being caught without a permit and 2)
feeding the bears, involuntary or otherwise. I suspect
this applies to part two.<br><br>"The maximum fine is
$5,000 and/or 6 months in jail. The regs are in place
for both the resource and the visitors' protection.
