Dev, Mike also asked about contract length for free agents. Is five years the max for free agent contracts (I know this won't apply until after the 1965 season...)

A max deal is five years if I remember correctly. After the initial contract of 3-,4-, or five-year player is up, the player becomes a free agent and can be signed by anyone with tie-breakers starting with who offers the longest deal. Is that deal also limited to the number of years of the original contract (three to five years), or could it be more years?
