Re: Dump1090
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI had to blacklist some RTL devices in /etc/modprobe.d/ (sent pic) If I didn't dump1090 --interactive wouldn't work. I also sent pics of it working in interactive and the lsusb 1 is keyboard and the other is a wireless mouse. I am using RTLsdr from vilros? Is sdrplay better?? Thanks a lot!? I appreciate this a bunch! On Jul 15, 2021 11:27 AM, "Dave Slotter, W3DJS" <slotter@...> wrote:

Re: Dump1090
Ok, that's not showing an error with the web server. Are you using a RTL-SDR or SDRPlay? Also, please send the output from "lsusb". On Thu, Jul 15, 2021 at 1:13 PM Christopher <dodge_ram_mopar_360@...> wrote:

I'm afraid that's all the help I know how to provide. I recommend you try speaking to one of the GitHub maintainers of dump1090. 73, On Thu, Jul 15, 2021 at 11:16 AM Christopher <dodge_ram_mopar_360@...> wrote:

Re: Dump1090
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAfter I installed gmap.html, I restarted and tried again. I still have the same problem. I tried dump1090 --net-only and I get a error also.? On Jul 14, 2021 7:19 PM, "Dave Slotter, W3DJS" <slotter@...> wrote:

Re: Dump1090
Try changing directory to /usr/local/bin prior to running dump1090. I bet it's looking in the current working directory, not the same directory as the program. On Wed, Jul 14, 2021 at 7:38 PM Christopher <dodge_ram_mopar_360@...> wrote:

Re: Dump1090
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI tried copying the file to /usr/local/bin? But access is denied, so I ran command sudo pcmanfm to copy the file and made sure all access is granted and it's still didn't work. Same errors So I ran folder in terminal and same thing. Thanks a lot for your help I looked in the forum and I tried what they said. Still no luck. I right clicked on your link and saved as gmap.html also Christopher On Jul 14, 2021 10:04 AM, "Dave Slotter, W3DJS" <slotter@...> wrote:

Re: Dump1090
Reading the source code, dump1090 is trying to open the file, "gmap.html". You can get a copy of this file at: Download this file and put it in the same directory with dump1090 and it should work. That directory is /usr/local/bin Hope this helps. On Wed, Jul 14, 2021 at 11:51 AM Dave Slotter, W3DJS via <slotter=[email protected]> wrote: Thanks for attaching the screen captures. Re: Dump1090
Thanks for attaching the screen captures. You're running HamPi, not HamPC.
Try reposting this to the Ham-Pi forum on groups.io and see if some of our active members can help out. I have had this "just work" in the past. That said, I see someone with a similar issue on the Raspberry Pi forums. https://raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=54017 -- - Dave ?? |
Re: Dump1090
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI went into terminal and typed command: (dump1090 --interactive --net) and everything works great!? When I go to the browser and type (http://localhost:8080) I cannot get the map to load and show all the airplanes. It tells me: error opening html file: no such file or directory. I had to blacklist 3 drivers to get dump1090 to work, and everything else seems ok so far. Thanks for your help! On Jul 13, 2021 12:57 PM, "Dave Slotter, W3DJS" <slotter@...> wrote:

What exactly are you seeing in the browser? Are you getting a 500 error message? Is there any text? ? Dave, Frist and foremost, i wish to than you for all effort you put in HamPi/HamPC projects. It's not easy make all of this work. I would like to kindly suggest, that the previous versions become available in some way. I believe that we could more easily determine if it is a problem with the current version (be it the iso compilation or any other bug). Based on what I have been observing here, I assume that it is not a question of the iso not being bootable, but a corrupted iso. ? Let us know if you could use our help. 73 "Kvadas"? ? |
Re: Laptop Install
Yes a couple of times.
I followed these instructions: INSTRUCTIONS: Download the file named "HamPC_v[version].iso.xz" to your hard drive. You do not need to decompress this file before flashing it to a USB thumb drive. You will need a USB thumb drive 16GB or larger (32GB recommended) On Windows, use a program called Rufus found at rufus.ie to write this image to a USB thumb drive. Next, configure your PC to boot from the (UEFI) USB thumb drive and restart. (Generally this is a BOOT setting in the computer BIOS or is activated by a special key press during boot. This varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.) By the way, I'm sure I'm not covering everyone's infinite number of configurations -- if I haven't covered something here, please reply back so I can disseminate that information to future users. |

This is the HamPC mailing list. If you want to discuss HamPi, there is a separate list specifically for that. On Wed, Mar 31, 2021 at 7:38 AM arthur2sheds <moebiusfox@...> wrote: I can't get --

Re: Problem Starting Up HamPC v1.2b
Dave,
I certainly will do that, but I have some more information on the problem.? The display problem is on my Dell 2-in-1 tablet (it works as a tablet and a laptop.?? When I attached a full size monitor to the HDMI, the full size monitor works.? No changes to the tablet screen resolution worked properly, but the full size monitor worked OK. I will test some more and get back to you with a screen shot if I cannot find a configuration that work. 73 George? AA2GG |
