The SA can be easily extend using a 9 pin D extender and I also use the SA terminator ( used when the option is NOT installed ) with the resistors removed to extend out the two RF connections.
Aaaah! I did not realize that there is a DB-9 connector on the bottom of the SA module between the P1 and P3 connectors! I see that now when I look at the schematics and the picture showing the physical board layout.
Thanks for the tip to use that in combination with termination module! ?
(I do think that I have a proper extender card lying somewhere in my boxes though.)
Do I understand it correctly that instead of using the termination module with resistors removed and feed the RF signals from there into the SA module I can just feed in the 20MHz reference-signal and the 114.30MHz IF-signal using external RF generators and only connect the SA module to the motherboard using the DB9-extender??
I can read in the schematics that the 20MHz reference signal should be +3dBm but I am not sure from the schematic if the 114.30MHz IF-signal should be -1dBm or something else?
?
During the weekend I will test with swapping the SA module and RX module from my working unit into the failing unit and run the RF_Diags again and see if errors disappear. I will also run the MISC_Diags to verify the three external RF ports.
