Just to update, I did some solder work, I swapped the flash and sram chips around to see if there was a flash or sram corruption that it would move the location of it when reflashed and give me a different error, but I get the same error before it boots. I do notice the memory is getting two different voltages either on input or output it's hard to tell with the scope at the moment. Seems like two signals, one 5v one around 3v, should be around 5v to match the power input on Vdd. So somewhere on the board there may be a fet or resistor network, or even voltage controller to get the different voltages for the board, this is with the board running outside the machine on a bench supply. I also noticed a little noise introduced to the timer before going to the mc68k processor and other components.
Other thing I noticed is the two options cards in the back have the out of loop lights on and sound does come out of the device but sometimes it's low unless you blow or direct more air around the audio analyzer board up front. But that may be a symptom of the unit not fully booting and controlling the items correctly with the calibrations. Still more digging to do.
I am going to pull the GAL(palce) programmable arrays and pull an image of those just in case, there's one on the controller and a few on the memory board that have hp part numbers on them. I'm gonna have a lot of bin/hex files by the end of this haha.
