Does anyone know where can be found a copy of: "HP Basic for Windows Installing and Using Guide"??? A google search is amazingly unhelpful giving pages of irrelevant stuff about Win10 and printer drivers.
I'm trying to get the program for the 3048A system running in VB6.33 and am having problems getting VB configured and then to load and run the program. Thanks for any pointers, Dan ac6ao |

Does anyone know where can be found a copy of: "HP Basic for WindowsVB? Do you mean HTBasic? The 3048A software has already been adapted for that, and it's pretty straightforward to get it working. -- john, KE5FX |

It takes KO4BB a few days? sometimes to clear the upload ques. He will likely get to it this weekend

I worked with HP Basic from 1984 to 1988. Unfortunately HT Basic seems to be expensive. Therefore this was never a real option for using at home. Some years ago I read that some guys tried to write kind of a program compatible to HP BASIC . . . It's not lost.? You can run HP9000 series 200 emulator and use software from if you just want to play around.

you have a very fine system here. Really looks impressive. This emulator also looks good. Have you been able running this successfully on Win7 64bit? The file ibasic.zip from here does have a setup.exe - but this does not seem to run on win7. may be a dos-window is needed. I still have some old diskettes from the HP9816S which I had. this was LIF-format or so. May be not so easy reading them today. I am not so sure if I should buy such an old hardware. here in germany this does not look so easy to get and then quite expensive in comparison with the pc or laptop that I have. I know few ways of getting LIF formatted floppies converted to plain text format:
1) using 2) making floppy image with TELEDISK and mounting it in the emulator 3) LIFUTIL https://www.keysight.com/upload/cmc_upload/All/EPSG084489.txt For any method you will need an old PC with native floppy drive controller and preferably Windows 98. Most LIF format floppies use 256 byte sectors while DOS/Windows are 512. Manufacturers and latest OS started dropping support for anything but 512 bytes sectors. USB floppy disks won't work.
