Wanted: HP6290A Power Supply Manual
Dave Haupt
I have an HP 6290A 0-40VDC, 3A power supply. For the
most part, it seems fully functional. However, something is amiss in the metering circuitry. The front panel meter mainly pins high or low. There's a four-position selector on the front to select the meter range as 5V, 50V, 4A or 0.4A. My suspicion is that it's either the switch or something in a meter amplifier circuit. Ideally, I'd like a nice copy (electronic preferred) of the service manual, but if I can get nothing more than a usable schematic, I'd be a much happier camper than today. Naturally, I'm willing to reimburse reasonable copying, postage and handling fees. Thanks in advance, Dave W8NF Santa Rosa, CA __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I have seen this problem before. The problem can generally be solved by cleaning the rotary switch. I use a product called DeoxIT D5 from Caig laboratories Relatively expensive, but a little squirt goes a long way. This cleaner will remove oxides and sulphides from the silver plated contact. Most contact cleaners are alcohols that will blast away dirt and oils. John Barnes ---------- Original Message ----------------------------------
