Re: 8566B PL1 Unlock, PL2 Unlock and Ref Unlock
Glen, it could be a bad cap on the -10V as the voltage is lower than it should be and of all the caps, that is where I see 4.6V of AC. I'm going to take it out and bridge in a cap that I have in that

Re: HP 1740A HV Oscillator has stopped running
Graham, By chance did you check the secondary is not being loaded down by a bad component? That would likely stall the oscillator. Dennis --------------------------------------------

Re: HP 1740A HV Oscillator has stopped running
Yes, you are correct, it is the HV Osc Q1, I was mixed with another section that was giving problems but resolved. I'll pull it out and test it, I have already done that HV Disable Q1 and Q2.

Electrically equivalent mechanically no, the 1853-0063 is a TO3 device not a TO66 George G6HIG ________________________________________ Sent: 21 October 2017 20:22:48 To:

Hi Ken Please read my posting, I said PNP2N3055, yes their is such a device and it is PNP. It was produced as a compliment to the 2N3055. 73 George

Re: 8566B PL1 Unlock, PL2 Unlock and Ref Unlock
So the filtered feed to the 12V comes off the cap that also feeds the 20V supply. I have around 30V coming off that cap into the 12V regulator. The output of the 12V regulator is only 9.5V. So I

Dan, I have a nearly complete T-200/500 that I got a couple of years ago. It's on a shelf around here somewhere. At the time I did a bunch of searching and discovered the TE-Connectivity replacement

Yes, I spoke too quickly about replacing the A17. The regulator is off board on what I think is called the A23. I'm trying to find the filter cap for the input to that regulator now but the

Re: 1853-0063 transistor needed
Greetings, Of course, the world is filled with things I don’t know - but I think the 2N3055 is an NPN transistor. I believe its PNP complement is Mj2955. Don’t just take my word, I may be wrong

Re: 1853-0063 transistor needed
Hi Manuel The transistor is a low spec Si PNP, try 2N2955 or even a PNP2N3055. Spec is Si PNP,55V, 5A, FT 3MHZ in a TO3 case. 73 George G6HIG ________________________________________ Sent: 21

Re: 8566B PL1 Unlock, PL2 Unlock and Ref Unlock
Hi, this looks like a power supply problem ;-) I would invest a few hours on searching for the problem. If it is in the power supply, it is likely that you can fix it relatively easy. I would guess a

Re: 8566B PL1 Unlock, PL2 Unlock and Ref Unlock
Changing the board won't help unless the raw supply filter cap for that supply happens to be on it. You likely just need to find and replace the cap and it should be good to go. I believe the cap is
