Re: HP8568A strange problems
Update: May have found the problem.
It was quite cold out again last night, so I figured I'd run it for a while, with the garage doors open to keep it chilly. As expected, the 8568 worked just fine

Re: Source of 1.0/2.3 50R coaxial connectors for E44xx series
Hi Leo,
I guess you found that Molex list them in 50 ohm, don't know who might be a UK distributor for them though.
Have you come across Cambridge Electronic Industries? They're just down the road

Source of 1.0/2.3 50R coaxial connectors for E44xx series
Is there a source of 50 Ohm impedance DIN 1.0/2.3 RF connectors that Agilent seem to be using on their E44xx series instruments?
I can only find 75R versions used in broadcasting industry.
I am making

Rather than easiest or hardest, how about luckiest?
I was given a 50" plasma tv once where the top half of the display was dead and the bottom half worked fine. Once I got inside I could see that the

Re: What were your easiest and your most difficult equipment repairs?
I don¡¯t know if this was the easiest repair, but I picked up an HP 26603 2.6 GHz plug-in for my 8660 generator. When I plugged it in, it had very low output power. When I opened it up I discovered

I've had plenty of each.? Loose connections and user error are the easiest, while multiple independent faults ending in unobtanium bad parts are the worst as they wear you down with false hope at

Re: 8560E Firmware/CPU Question
Per the Serial No. it WAS manufactured not earlier than 1999 week 43. That¡¯s all the Serial No. tells you, but it is for sure. To put and end to the window you have to know the next Serial Prefix

I don't have an easiest repair yet they all seem somewhat difficult for various reasons. However my current job is restoring an HP 8662A sig gen. I knew it needed some work when I bought it but when I

Hello--
I'm not sure whether this qualifies as my easiest-- or most difficult--
repair.
Years ago, I purchased a Kay Elemerics multiband sweep generator and discovered

Re: What's this mains plug with live/neutral horizontal when earth is at the top?
??Quite right, Dave. I didn't see a picture, but from your description, you have a NEMA 6-15 plug, which is as you thought for 240V. Earth is green, but since the US is center-tapped 240V, there's

Re: What were your easiest and your most difficult equipment repairs?
I too have had plenty of very simple fixes, and correcting the old "wrong line voltage setting" is one of the nicest and most fortuitous kind. The most memorable to me is when I got a pristine SR830
