Re: Low EMI lighting for labs and work areas
Hi Gary, Agree with you on all points.? LEDs are the way to go, with a linear supply. Turn off devices that radiate energy, or use a test chamber (made for this purpose). -Chris

Re: "HP Scanjet 6300C" scanner and "Auto Document Feeder" service manuals ...
What are you looking for specifically? I have a scanjet 6300 with the ADF - I've never taken it apart, but I don't imagine there's much in there other than a stepper motor and maybe a belt or a couple

Re: Low EMI lighting for labs and work areas
Common-mode chokes are by far the most effective way to reduce conducted emissions. Ferrite chokes are cheap and easy to apply but do require some care. Note that you need to treat EVERY cable

Re: HP-8753E S11 Intermittent Results - Switch or Bridge?
Actually the uncorrected response looks almost better than what I had been running. I do have a backup of the EEPROM which I took from the instrument prior to my repair attempts. I am going to try and

Re: HP-8753E S11 Intermittent Results - Switch or Bridge?
If this is the case than there is a chance that your correction constants are corrupted , you pretty much need to run TEST 53 which re-establishes the sampler correction constants BUT in order to run

"HP Scanjet 6300C" scanner and "Auto Document Feeder" service manuals ...
Hi, I am looking for a copy of the above service manuals in either paper or electronic format. I already have the user and installation manual(s) for both. Sadly Google failed to find anything :-(

Re: HP-8753E S11 Intermittent Results - Switch or Bridge?
New Hint - Last night I saw a mention of turning off the Sampler Cor Factors OFF.? I just did this, and now the problem is gone the VNA passes Port 1 Test at least 10 times now..? Wow, it could be a

Re: Scoping the Power Rails [8566B]
Thanks, Ozan. Well I couldn't get a meaningful reading with a DVM on HUL2 so I scoped it and clearly the voltage levels at that point are randomly jumping all over the place, so it looks like you've

Re: HP-8753E S11 Intermittent Results - Switch or Bridge?
Yes, I plan on maintaining what I can. I have fixed a few issues with the other CPU Board (now my spare), with the GPIB Interface. I am trying to get my hands on enough spares to keep on hand. It is

Re: Low EMI lighting for labs and work areas
DC operated LEDs seems like the leading DIY (or "quasi~") proposition. "LED Lights and Parts" seems a pretty legit source, though I guess I'd personally need to find a similar outfit in the US.

If you plan on using and maintaining your 8753 than I strongly recommend for you to get you a powermeter and sensor , 4418A/B (E441A) have gotten fairly cheap ($200-300 but sometimes you can catch one

Why would it matter if incandescent bulbs were operated on AC or DC? As for a source of bulbs, how about multiple bulbs normally used for automobile signals and markers? They tend to be more efficient

Re: HP-8753E S11 Intermittent Results - Switch or Bridge?
Lothar: That was a good warning!? Yes my A5 Sampler is a part number 5087-7001. My donor unit only has P/N 5087-7000. The donor unit was an OPT11, which may explain the difference in Samplers. I
