The older one is the 10544A, but he mentioned the 5MHz osc. Hard to say which one that is. I have seen ¡°orange drop¡± Tant caps take out the fuse in many of the ¡°wire¡± heater versions. Regards,

Is it the newer 10811A oscillator, or the older one (can't remember the number right now)? They have different oven circuits. But yes, it's been known to happen. In particular, there's a thermal fuse
