Re: Replace Neon NE-2 with Zener in 141T PSU?
Here's an example: http://tubedata.jp/sheets/200/z/ZZ1000.pdf http://tubedata.jp/sheets/200/z/ZZ1000.pdf If you make a replacement circuit that provides the same or close enough shunt regulator specs,

Re: Wanted: HP Laserjet 4
I'd get a 4050 or 4100. These printers are REAL workhorses, has parallel port, network port, lots of memory, duplex option, cartridge for 15000 prints, can use 2/3 paper drawers and the whole works. I

Re: Replace Neon NE-2 with Zener in 141T PSU?
Hi Gary, Denis, Ed, and Alan, You are all correct, I read the value wrong. My printed schematic looks poor on paper! Ok, so an 82 volt zener (or equivalent) would do the trick. Yes, that "bulb" does

Dave, I'll keep your suggestions in mind. Some pieces of gear were made better and because of it, lasted longer. Looking for exactly what you're describing. Only reason I'm staying with the legacy

Are you sure it's a 62V zener that's needed? My HP141T neon was 82V. ?I ?have recently replaced the Neon in mine with two series connected 1W Zeners of 39V and 43V. ?It drifts slightly for about 20

Re: Replace Neon NE-2 with Zener in 141T PSU?
If the part you're looking at is the voltage reference for the power supply, I believe you have some things to figure out. As I recall, the proper reference voltage is around 83-85V, produced by a

Re: Replace Neon NE-2 with Zener in 141T PSU?
I have that circuit out in front of me trouble shooting that 100v supply on anothe system. My thought is that a 62v "zener" is not close enough to the 82v neon. You need another 20v "zener" in series

Bob, The duplexer is a mechanical add-on. It won't natively do duplex. These things are great. Easy to work on. Awesome for printing manual pages when doing a project. Hit control+P and give it 100
