Re: Need transformer for 70004A Power Supply

Nice work, and also a very nice webpage. Thank you for sharing this with everyone. Also, an EXTRA thank you for sharing in a way that is easily accessible to everyone. It¡¯s getting a little tiresome to have to be a registered member of this group or that to be able to see something. And the ¡°see us on Facebook¡± thing is particularly nauseating. Your web page is a breath of fresh air!

Cheers!

I have a 5303A counter, which is missing IC6. See Photos.

Can anybody tell me what this IC is?

If you have a 5303A, please have a look. Photo?

Rest of the counter is working OK, just this unknown IC missing...

A schematic or manual would be very welcome!

Thanks & regards,

I have five 84 inch tall 19 inch ¡®telephone racks¡¯.? These are constructed with two 84 inch long about 2 x 4 inch aluminum U channel with four 4 x 4 L brackets, two at the bottom and two at the top.? I built bases out of three 2 x 6 studs, placed flat, about 30 inches long, with ? inch plywood ¡®screwed and glued¡¯ to the top and bottom at the studs.? I mounted extra heavy duty casters on the base and bolted the ¡®racks¡¯ to the base.? Supports several hundred pounds each.

I was concerned about that myself.

Are real racks really that difficult to find? I mean, I may be an
outlier here with close to seventy of them in this building, but still.
I see them on Craigslist, at university surplus stores, in govdeals
auctions..

Re: 5328A gate

The only problem that I have had with my 5228A was a dead TTL logic chip on one of the plugin boards. I forget the symptoms of this, but dead counter springs to mind.

Of course the offending device was obsolete TTL; so I dusted off Boolean logic, and de Morgan's laws (unused for decades) and wired in two piggybacked TTL chips that were not obsolete to simulate the dead obsolete one.

Peering at the schematics it *could* have been A4U10 on the function selector board, labelled Time Base Multiplexer, a 74S64N. No guarantee - it was a while ago. It looks like they can be got now from obsolete old stock, eg

Of course that might not be your problem.

Craig

PS and replaced the power supply electrolytics, which were smelling like cat urine and clearly dead or dying.

If you install software version A.02.90.00 you should be able to use
at least up to 18GB drives.

These days it can be difficult and/or expensive to find 50-pin SCSI
drives. I have been using some 68-pin 9GB SCSI drives that I picked up
cheap with 68-pin male to 50-pin male adapters in my 16700 series
logic analyzers.
That's about what you have to do, drive technology has evolved.
