Chuck;

If I am unable to get this normalizer working, I'd be happy to loan you the cable until I round up another one for parts, so you can at least see if that painfully broke feeling would have some reward with your own 8501A!

As for the manual, I just hope I can use my 35 sheet, sheet fed scanner...? on long foldouts it scans the entire foldout as a series of 81/2 x 11 sheets automatically (an HP laserjet 3015 all in one).?

I also have a private FTP server on a T3 connection, and if it's a help at some point, we can upload and download large documents with it to save postage and time.? Just need to use it after midnight and before 6am for mega-transfers, and that is no problem with an FTP client that like WS FTP Pro which permits scheduling.

Oh, I also have the new 2005 ARRL Handbook CD, CE-31/A/B and Singer CSM-1 service manuals, off topic, but thought I'd mention it.

Mike;

Perhaps the best first question is can you email me a couple of pages that would guide me through testing the 8501A?? I have an in-calibration 8754A and my analyzer manual does not cover the "adjustment" that needs to be made to use the 8501A, but does mention it.

The Storage Normalizer does not toggle when I press the local/remote button on the far right (although the LED does flicker on power up), and the display goes blank if I turn the storage display control to "ON" or "HOLD".? I expected something to happen, but not a blank display.

I have already checked the 8501A, reseated all boards, looked for component problems, power supply problems, etc.?? It was an EBAY deal...? what can I say!? I really would like to get it working, though.?

I home-brew duplexers (have a set of 6m cans nearly complete right now), so let me know it there is anything I can offer you in exchange for a copy or to borrow your manual.

Can anyone help me, I am looking for data on a HP8708A Synchroniser.
I understand it can be used to stabilize a HP606b and late model

I generates a DC voltage which is used to changed the reverse bias
on varacter diode. This is used as a fine frequency control, and is
referenced back to a crytsal oscillator in the HP8708A. This is

The correct synchroniser for the HP 606B and the HP 608F is indeed the HP

synchronizer works on the huff and puff oscillator stabilization principle
and is extremely accurate and stable after initial warm up.

Re: HP 3406A manual needed

Hello Gary,

I am not sure if my Yahoo address can accept a file this large. I am
quite sure that it can

As an alternative, can you post it to the Files section on this
group?

If these options don't work, I have another address which I can send
to you off line that can accept the file.

Appreciate the effort!!

Cheers,

Mitch

Thanks in advance,

Greetings, I am looking for a HP 3406A manual, that
hopefully is
cheaper than the actual unit was. PDF is plenty fine.
Thanks
Dave Robbins
