Chuck;
Attached is a part of an 8754a sales brochure dated 1 JAN 84.? Note
that the section on the 8501A states:
"A single internal adjustment (DAC Gain) is required for 8754A
compatibility".? I respectfully point out that I did read the HP
Literature before deciding that the 8501A was compatible with my
8754A.? I don't know if the image will be displayed, but a scanned
image portion of the sales brochure is included below.
Mike, I would like very much to make a copy of your manual.? I do have
both a sheet feed scanner and a flatbed scanner.
My callbook address is correct, and I was wondering if I could PayPal
you the postage?

The HP catalogs only say that the 8501A works with the 8505 network
analyzer system.
The 8501A also is special in that it is setup to normalize both the
polar display
and the phase-magnitude display of the 8505A.
As further evidence of my belief, HP sold both normalizers at the same
time.? In the description of the 8750A, they list a hand full of
instruments
that are compatible.
