As you know already, it¡¯s really a sleeper. Although it works very

There is a reason that it¡¯s called a frequency microscope.?

FYI, adding the deep memory option is quite easy. If you search

Hello to all in this group,
Thanks for being understanding during these trying times.? I have not yet returned to my office in Minnesota where the Red Devil resistors are so as you can see, I have not been able to fulfill my promise to you as I am still in Loveland, Colorado.??

I have orders in to get a Loveland cal on all of my 3458A DMMs which I was planning of have performed while in Loveland being that my office here is just 3 miles from the Keysight facility.? That does not look like it is going to happen so this will all have to wait until Keysight cal lab is back in business.? I have upgraded the CAL RAMs on my 3458A meters as well as some of the other parts related to the high stability OHMS and voltage reference internal to the meters.

The good news is that I have gone through my inventory here in Colorado and have found considerably more items than I remember having.? I have parts and boards and many case parts related to the following instruments and related I/O cards:
3421A, 3455A, 3456A, 3457A, 3458A, 3468A/B 3476B, 3478A, 3488A, 970 probe meter,? some oscilloscopes 54501, 54511 and spectrum analyzers? 3582, 3585, 8754A, 8753A? and all the I/O cards for the 3488A:? 444XX series(XX= 70, 71,72,73,77,78, 91,92?and I/O cars for the 3457A.??
I have a large supply of the Aromat relays(new unused) that I used in the design of the 4447X series of I/O cards for the 3488 should you need to replace any as well as other components used on the boards

The 3468 and 3478 meters and related axial leaded and ICs and custom hybrids I designed are also in my inventory and are in sufficient supply to fill anyone's needs. In fact, the SAFT and ETERNACELL 3.0v lithium back up battery for the cal RAM some were looking for earlier are here in Colorado.? I can make them available at a reasonable price of $2.00 each.? All of them measure 3.03v or better.

Thank you and I will notify group when I am back in Minnesota regarding the Red Devil resistors.
I can ship other parts from Colroado if needed.? I am scheduled to hit the road to Minnesota once I load up the truck with the inventory on the 28th of April.? Hard to believe I have been here almost 2 months when the initial plan was to be here 2 weeks.

And modern ECL divider is probably a good substitute, except it will need an adapter of some sort for the pin out. At those frequencies, the 100K and higher families will be fine. DigiKey sells a bunch of chips that could be a replacement (other than the pinout).

Hi Richard

HP part number 1820-2933 is a Plessey Semiconductors SP8606B. This is a 1.3GHz divide by two ECL Logic device.

Plessey Semiconductors were manufactured in Swindon UK.

Looks like your A6 Board was manufactured and designed at the HP plant in Scotland.

Now probably hard to come by.

Re: Application Note 122: EMI Measurement Procedure

I just checked my banana box of appnotes* and found AN122.

Weirdly, the spine just says "EMI Measurement Procedure" and the big "AN 122" on the front cover is an afterthought, put on there with a slightly skewed rubber stamp.

Subtitled "Calibration and Operation of the HP 851B/8551B Spectrum Analyzer to Measure Electromagnetic Interference"

1st page: "02464-1 Printed February 1968"

154 pages total.

Comes with a Business Reply mail postcard "Please reserve my copy of HP App Noe 63E - making fast emi measurements with a spectrum analyzer". I might fill that out, assuming HP is still at 1501 Page Mill Road and Alan Steiner is still with the Microwave Division.

And like a cereal packet, there's a bonus - a "8511/851 Spectrum Analyzer RFI/EMI Calibration Slide Rule" in on envelope glued to the inside back cover.

Sweet!

* Saw 4 banana boxed of "service manuals" being auctioned on the NZ auction Site (eBay is 2nd fiddle here in NZ), looking at the pictures spotted an HP logo on top of one of the piles - hey, that looks like an HP App Note! - got them for a song - a nationwide courier company owed me a favour (long story) and I got them shipped for free. 1 box of app notes (possibly from the estate of someone high up at HP Australia?), and 3 boxes of service manuals for tape decks, electric organs etc etc. Long tertm plan will be to scan the ones that aren't there already.

Cheers,

Anyway I just sent the refund and I see the pages you scanne3d. I will knit that schematic for you so it is continuous
