Sorry for being slow and silent - I am the guy who planned (or still plans) an adapter. Sadly, things were fucked up a little bit here: my exwife is in hospital again (as always), and one of my employees has a tussle with the German mafia. I am, in principle, still interested in tackling the problem. My main questions are: A) is anyone willing to betatest. This, I ask as I have no HP HIL capable workstation; my logic analyzer is a 16500C and a 16700A who both do PS2. B) would a price of 50USD for keyboard and 75USD for keyboard and mouse work? -- With best regards Tam Hanna --- NEW: Enjoy electronics? Like seeing oscilloscopes get repaired? On the risk of getting my ass booted off this esteemed quorum for advertising shit or some horsecrap (got burnt at the Danaher owners guild), some advice. I recently found myself using both OctoPart an OemSecret for finding components cheaply. If you buy one pricey item or many ones so that shipping doesn't bite, the sites are really useful. OemSecret has more vendors in its list, but Octo has the better user interface. Tam -- With best regards Tam Hanna --- NEW: Enjoy electronics? Like seeing oscilloscopes get repaired? Part of the software also runs on the host PC to connect the PC keyboard, display, and storage devices to BASIC software running on the 68K processor. The host PC software runs on top of plain DOS. You need to install it on a PC that can boot into plain DOS, not any form of Windows while the software is running. Obviously the PC also needs to be old enough that it has an ISA bus slot to install the board. I have both 82321 and 82324 boards and have gone through the exercise of getting them set up and running on an old PC. -Glen No virus found in this message. |

Hi allThe major distributors are Mouser, Digikey, Hamilton-Avnet. You might want to look at surplus distributors such as All Electronics, Electronics Goldmine, and (not quite a surplus distributor) Jameco. I've dealt with all of them, they're quite reliable. Sometimes prices for the major distributors do vary a bit, but be sure to figure in shipping and taxes as well. Harvey

Re: HP 9000 300 & HP-HIL keyboard
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi all ? Just a follow on from the E mail below ?so thank you to the author? I believe is named? Bruno ? Did someone offer to make an inter face between different keyboards eg ( mine din or USB? )? to HP-HIL USB ? Also Digi key is a new company to me and although they have the connectors is there any way of getting a better price As i require 2 HP-HIL ?Keyboard leads ? Best Regards Paul B From:

? ? The TE Connectivity AMP Connectors 1-1761184-1 and 5-1761184-1 seem to match the HP-HIL cable connectors. ? ? Where 1-1761184-1 has the "A" key for the One-Dot cable end and 5-1761184-1 has the "E" key for the Two-Dot cable end. ? These appear to be a stocked item at Digikey and likely similar: Mouser, Arrow, etc.
? ? Other manufacturer may be using the same SDL, Plug Modular Connector 4 Positions Position Shielded Crimp connectors for products other than HP-HIL. ? I happened to have an IBM Point of Sale LCD Display that uses the "A" keyed connector for it's receptacles/cables though it likely uses RS-485 vs. HP-HIL. similar to:? I tried the "A" (One-Dot) end of an HP-HIL in the receptacle of the LCD display and it made good electrical contact and mechanically latched. ?The IBM SDL cable that I have has "A" connectors on both ends and it has a different pinout than the HP-HIL cable. ?Still, similar IBM POS cables might be used for the "A" end of HP-HIL cable or by remapping the the wiring and hacking the "A" key to fit in a "E" receptacle. ? I provide this to add to the discussion and possibly stimulate others research/evaluation. ?I make no claims to suitability/accuracy/etc. I don't represent any of the vendors. ? ? I thought I had an HP-HIL keyboard that I might use to help develop a "real" PS/2 to HP-HIL converter, but it was an HP PS/2 keyboard with modular cables. ?Also, my plan use for my logic analyzer with HP-HIL is as spare parts for a newer logic analyzer with PS/2. ?So, my converter plans are suspended.? ??
Does anyone have a schematic ???
?
?? On
a related note, it appears that the series pass transistors are smoked.
?? HP
PN 1850-0168 and the only data I find is they are a PNP Ge.
??
There does not appear to be a Xref for this #.?
?
???
Any info on this beast (70 lbs or so of it) would be appreciated.
?
Thanks,
