Hi Gedas

?

Hopefully you are going to be the light at the end of the tunnel because it is an up hill struggle trying to resurrect old computer hard war into ?working systems

?

Glen? I am no software man so software? and HP basic will be an up hill struggle for me? thank you for the links

So all the software to run the viper is on the 5 old 5.25 floppy disks? or 2 newer 3.25 ?floppy? ?disks

?

My Viper baud is based on a 68000???? part number 82321-60011? with a sub PCB on it part number ??82305-60001

The idea of getting the Viper bourd working is to use it for the HP drive project as a reliable storage medium

?

Best regards Paul B

or a pair of 56 kbps modems at each end and Z-Modem . Actually I have a similar system and have a read only CD player installed so I can port large files into the DOS PC when needed.

I just set up a dedicated system that boots into MS-DOS 6.22 with no
version of Windows of any kind installed.

If I needed to easily and quickly move files between the HP BASIC
system and a modern system I would probably add an Ethernet card to
the HP BASIC system and run mTCP software on top of DOS to FTP files
to and from the system.

You could also set up a system that could dual boot into either DOS or
some version of Windows so you could boot into DOS when you want to
run HP BASIC and then boot into Windows when you want to do stuff on
Windows.
