Hello,
I've a 5334A counter, s/n 2938Axxxx, and I would like to add it a 10544 OCXO. I see inside that there is a small connector intended for an adapter board for the OCXO. ?Could somebody help me obtain the schematic for this adaptor board and also let me know if there is any other modification inside the counter to bypass the standard timebase oscillator?
I've bee trying to find the service manual for this model but with no success - only seen some for previous versions, s/n with prefix lower than 2938.
Thank you very much. Best regards,
Javier EA1CRB

Hi Group,
there's a HP 1801A dual channel vertical amplifier for 180 serios 'scopes on ebay.
the one shown has a channel 1 output on the front panel and a magnifier switch.
I have another 1801A at home that doesn't have the output and magnifier.
Is there an option to the 1801A that adds the output and magnifier?
Many thanks,
Andi

Want to trade - programmable attenuators in exchange for manual step
I have a small assortment of "programmable" RF/microwave attenuators here. What I have are house-numbered units. They are 33321G/8495G equivalents or 33320G/8494G equivalents.
Basic specs are these:
33321/8495: 0-70dB in 10dB steps 5 volts required to drive Rated to 4GHz SMA input and output connectors 14-pin DIP plug on cable
33320/8494: 0-11dB in 1dB steps 5 volts required to drive Rated to 4GHz SMA in/out 14-pin DIP plug on cable
You drive them by applying +5V steady on one pin, then grounding the correct selection of other pins to select the attenuation you desire. An absolute necessity if you're building up PC-controlled test systems.
Full specs, operating and service manual downloadable from the Agilent website by entering the following in the search engine:
08495-90025.pdf
I have two or three of each, and am basically looking to trade for the manual equivalent. I have a couple of signal generators with fixed 0dBm output and need to add manual step attens to them to allow for receiver testing. It would be great to get two or three of each.
The models I'm seeking are 8494A/B/H, 8495A/B/H and/or 8496A/B/H.
TIA,
73,
Dave W8NF

Re: HP-IB to PC Printer for 54501 Scope?
Hi John:
The HP 54501 only has screen dump using a printer, It may be that the 502 and higher number scopes have a choice of print or plot. I need to move my NI GP-IB card to the newer computer and get it installed then try the trial version of Print Capture.
Thanks for letting me know about it,

Re: 524* family counter question
Hello all, FYI, I have a 5248M counter with the 5254C frequency converter (3 Ghz), no manual, but very similar to the 5245L, the HP 1970 catalog states that the main differences are range extended to 150 Mhz, period measurement resolution of 10 ns and time interval reslution of 10 ns. The 5248M has a 5 Mhz crystal while the 5248L has a 1 MHz crystal. By the way the catalog price was U$S 3300.00 73's Joe Orgnero VE7LBI

In early versions of the L the only the oven runs continuously-the oscillator does not. Not sure re later versions of the L but there was an upgrade kit that put the 10 MHz 10811A OCXO in both the 5245L and the 5248. With that in place I think the oven and the oscillator both run continuously.
The original reference in the 5245L was 1 MHz and the 10811A upgrade kit had an extra divider to get down to 1 MHz. Don't think there are any other significant differences but would have to look at the books to find out. Don't know the 5248 at all sorry.
I have an L and an M and their handbooks-plus a video amp and a 500 MHz plugin- looking for a 5255 12 GHz plugin (cheap!) I have a 5257A 18GHz xfer osc plugin but it's naffed. Only want the 5255 to be able to log 10 GHz readings over time- with the D/A converter chart recorder combo. I have an EIP 545 but it's BCD output option seems to be pretty rare.

Also, if my program doesn't work, you might have better luck with PrintCapture (www.printcapture.com). Not free, but not too pricy either.

Dave, Thanks for looking that info up. This transformer is probably from something else. Some extra info that might help identify it is that the terminals come out of the transformer case in five round "bulkheads" lettered "A" to "E". The "A" group has four terminals which I think are a pair of input windings (for 120 or 240, I guess). The next three groups are all five terminals each and the last group is just two terminals. Each grouping is numbered sequentially from 1. I've looked at several different HP scope manuals on the BAMA web site and cannot find this number but nor can I find any schematics that use a letter-number terminal identification scheme. Hi John
?
Just thought you might get a laugh
from hearing that I recently paid USD 6200 to a guy in Quebec
Canada for 3
planks of wood which were supposed to be an Agilent E4432B Signal generator. It
was eBay ¡°bait¡± I should have walked away from.
?
He actually shipped the goods before
payment, thinking that would make me feel more comfortable. The shipping time
would allow him to collect his money and disappear. Well it worked, he got the
money and I got three expensive planks of wood!
?
Pass this around to your friends. If
anyone comes across a guy named Konstantinos Tabiris, watch out. His
email for what
its worth is hns0909@....
?
Now I have to find a more
¡°legitimate¡± seller and in the mean time, hope to recover my money
somehow¡..
