Peter, Radu,
Great stuff.
I have used PLA from Farnell and Prusa MK4 printer.
Here is the .step file.

Check the tantalums, they usually fail short-circuit.
What exact part number of the board is it? Agilent had a few versions.

I have no intention of distributing the document. I have a short on the -15V of the A9 module (Vector Output), which pulls the power supply down and prevents the device from turning on.

In any case, if it’s not possible for you to send me the full document, could you send me only the page for the A9 module with the UNB option (P/N: E4400-60141)?

That would be a great help.

Thanks

Guys,
Do what you think that's fair play....I spent 2 weeks to scan and rectify....
Good luck with ESG's

Re: HP 8673D synthesized generator - need help identifying the two PC boards attached to A1A11 power amplifier

The lift table sounds like a useful boat anchor manipulation device.? I am of "that age" but am still very good at lifting (everyone is good at something in the gym).? However, sidelined a couple of months due to having to go to the maintenance facility for a shoulder repair for a different injury and the doc telling me no heavy lifting for a bit.? So for now, circuit development and debug of tiny stuff like 0402 SMD parts.

I have to get into my 8660D which I still like for lower frequency RF work as other more modern units I have (modern is relative) don't go below 300 kHz.? The 8660D mainframe is alright but could use a tuneup but the low frequency plugin has no output.? I will probably need to make an extender.? I do have parts and harnesses from a scrapped 8660 mainframe I grabbed that someone had left as trash at the end of a hamfest so maybe can make an extension cable with those Winshester-looking connectors.

Most of the alignments and adjustments in the 8660 can be done without extenders but some steps can't be done without.

Due to how busy I am I think this will need to wait a few months but it will happen!

A recently purchased (earlier this week) VEVOR TFD15 hydraulic lift table has made 1000% improvement in handling these heavy/old machines (8660, 8350, 8673) which use linear/transformer power supplies and are made of 100% pure cast iron straight from the mine. Highly recommend such a thing for those of us "of a certain age" that still wrangle electronics by the metric ton.

Determined course of action at this point --- going to build extender mechanism to allow the pictured module to operate outside the synthesizer. 6x2 3.94mm card edge connector, already have PCBs with 3.94mm pitch traces for making these sorts of things, and 14-pin IDC DIP male plugs to make the 2-port ribbon cable that appears to go off in the direction of the YTO, are both on order, couple weeks til delivery, so machine is back to it's "hangar queen" location until I am ready for testing.

Barring any other adds to this discussion, I'll surface again with the topic once I am able operate the module(s) outside the synthesizer chassis.

Nice!? What printer and plastic did you use?

I just got Catia installed on my machine and starting training (mostly, how to work with the company document management system) so should be able to start making up parts at some point.

5041-8820 Rear Strap Handle Cap — 3D print files?

Does anybody have a 3D model of Agilent 5041-8820 Rear Strap Handle Cap?
Mine has shattered and I'd like to replace it. I have the metal insert so only need plastic outside piece.
Cheers

Re: looking for service manual for HP4934A

I took a look in my fiche documentation - I do not have anything for the 4934A.
?
If you look here in the first pdf (ending 01) -
?
?
You can see a list of op and service documentation published by HP up to November 1985.?
There does not seem to be an entry for the 4934A so it may be covered in another service manual
?

Re: Agilent/Keysigh ESG series CLIP

I see your point!?
I was in possession?for like 10 years of the original schematics from CAD (so no scan and bad quality this time) of the tektronix TDS540 scope that I received directly?from tektronix?after asking gently.
I never shared it until the official version was published exactly?for the same reason as you!
Now the published version is available?so I should upload them somewhere, I don't really know because I was told to not share them too If I recall correctly.

Re: E5071C powering down

Hi Sven,
you have to place a new CR2032 on the mainboard, then do a CMOS default and set the correct date/time.

Normally, after that all should be OK. I had the same issue on mine, fixed it that way.

regards,
Jean-Luc

Objet: [HP-Agilent-Keysight-equipment] E5071C powering down

Hi,

bought a E5071C 4-port 8.5GHz VNA. Seller stated that the device does
not power up. Arriving home I connected it to power switched it on - it
turns on, Fans blowing for 3-4 seconds, no other signs of life,
everything switching off.

Noticed that if i remove the CMOS battery from the Mainboard (a Radisys
Endura LS855 with Agilent patched BIOS), the Analyzer is starting up. It
boots Windows XP just fine and the VNA is working. (Luckily the RF ports
all seem to work).

When shutting down it won't shut down entirely, black screen, and the
Fans are still blowing. With the next power cycle i have the problem
stated above again, until i remove the CMOS battery again.

That even happens without booting Windows XP. So it seems like the BIOS
is loading some invalid values into the CMOS RAM.

The service guide from Keysight says it should be sent in to replace the
CMOS battery, but that's very expensive for a hobbyist.

Does anyone know how to get the proper CMOS data restored? I see there's
a bioscheck.exe binary in the E5071C folder, but executing that doesn't
change anything.

Thanks
Sven
