Just to conclude. Repair is completed and the unit and attenuator? work just fine.
As per usual, it was not as easy as I thought it would be., but I did not loose any screws.

Thanks to all.

I just uploaded some catalog pages extracted from an old Sangamo catalog.? this might help.......

Re: OT: Wanted: .pdf's of SAUGAMO Silver Mica dipped molded Capacitor ?---? Data Sheets or Catalogs ?

From a quick internet search, see attached file - has CM15 style and several other silver mica capacitors. The CM15 is a military spec looks to now be under mil-prf-39001.

Re: HP 3852a extended memory modules info

A DIP 68008 is 48 pin, not 40 pin.

Not in a 40-pin. 48-pin DIP, 52-pin PLCC.

After searching, it appears to have gone in a cabinet full of old parts at a hamfest last year. Sorry about that.

Re: HP 8360-Series Sweeper CLIP soon available on KO4BB

Hi Matt,

I tried your settings but still didn't work so what I did was to disable
the firewall on the laptop and connect directly to my router using a
secondary public IP address. Probably not very smart to have a laptop
connected with public IP without firewall on the internet but it was not
taking long time.

I tried different internet connections and none worked. Maybe NAT on the
firewall/router is somehow breaking the FTP connection...

Timeout is not necessary to be changed. When I use the public IP on the
laptop it is very fast the connection and also the download. I reached
around 3.9MB/s

Thanks,
Razvan

Yes. I should have checked more carefully and also burned new ones to test. It might have been that the markings were obscured by the labels also. Will do better next time, if there is a next time.

Re: HP 3852a extended memory modules info

Uhmmm, the MC68000 is in a 64 pin dip that is physically huge.

Any 40 pin version has to be the 8 bit data bus version of the
68000, also known as the 68008, as I recall.

If the M68000 is like most other NMOS and CMOS parts, any driver
can be momentarily shorted to any voltage from 0 to 5V without
harm.

Re: E4402 RF Deck Clips

If I may be forgiven for mentioning this for the second time in a few weeks... I just went through this exact same repair with the 1GC1-4210, made my own board, and have traced a (very limited) area around the divider, documented here? :

Also have a YT video about this E4402B that should be easy to find.

Could you tell me what you see? in the System (2) -> Show Hdwrd page, at the line “50ohm 3GHz input” ? I'd like to compile a list of hardware revisions and correlate to the type of divider IC used.

Re: HP 8360-Series Sweeper CLIP soon available on KO4BB

Hello Razvan,

Yes, I had exactly the same problem. ?It would not get past sending the dir command. ?

The first thing I tried was extending the timeout to 180 seconds, after which it seemed to get a little bit further, but still no directory listing. ?
After some internet searching I tried changing the transfer mode to "Active", after which I got the directory listing and was able to download.?

I have attached some screenshots.

Matt

In what package? I may have one around here somewhere, I think something like a 64-pin DIP.

Re: HP 8360-Series Sweeper CLIP soon available on KO4BB

Hi Matt,

I saw the notes regarding ftp and I tried different ftp clients none
were able to list the directories.

All connect OK but when "dir" command is sent there is always a timeout.

One of the clients was of course Filezilla but no matter what I would
set it would still not list the directories.

Any chance you can make a screenshot of your Filezilla settings that work?

Thanks,
Razvan
