Uhmmm, the MC68000 is in a 64 pin dip that is physically huge.
Any 40 pin version has to be the 8 bit data bus version of the
68000, also known as the 68008, as I recall.
If the M68000 is like most other NMOS and CMOS parts, any driver
can be momentarily shorted to any voltage from 0 to 5V without
harm.

its in a DIP 40 marked as 1820-3532 which is a MC68000G8 . basically
can be any MC68000.
