Agilent/Keysigh ESG series CLIP

 

Hi Fellows,
Last offer before retirement...

CLIP P/N is E4400-90336

Model covered: E4400B, E4420B, E4421B, E4422B, E4423B, E4424B, E4425B, E4426B, E4430B, E4431B, E4432B, E4433B, E4434B, E4435B, E4436B

I¡¯m sure that also E44xxA series are covered because i have also ESG-D3000A = E4432A and boards/modules of this guy are also covered. Keysight seems didn¡¯t put E44xxA series in the Find-A-Part database because is older than B series.?

Was a lot of work to scan over 1000pages...I'm asking 35USD or 30EUR

When we did a scan, not optimal scanner parameters were used... scanner ignored inductors (spring like lines) but references and values are there. Once we saw this, was to late to do job again.

Zip file size is about 122MB

Well I repair on the board itself so I do that for more then 35years - maybe you have a real service manual and not the how to do swap a board plan.
What you're looking for is the CLIP, Component-Level Information Package, which includes the schematics. I've never seen one available for the 54720D, but perhaps someone else knows better.

thank you for helping - but this is a service guide and I'm searching the circuit sheet to repair the power-supply but there is no sheet include.
maybe you know where I can get the Service Manual and not the plan how I can swap a board in the rack.

No clue for these boxes in particular. But if it helps, on the 16900, that's all I did. Installed a generic version of XP, and then installed the software on top. It worked fine -- the software installed the necessary hardware drivers.

Does anybody have a clone image of the HDD (any MSO/DSO8000A model is ok)
I guess Agilent 54832B,D are also the same so an image of those should also work

"Humming" is an artifact of transformer core magnetostriction, caused by the AC line pre-regulator.? It is normal for these supplies.

Starting to look for the HP6268B power supply, no hurry. Could be a fixer upper as long as cosmetics are decent. Anyone got one they want to sell? Shipping to Miami FL.
Yes I have looked at ebay, and there are a couple, most are between overpriced (to me) or just to plain ugly looking (broken, bashed, badly scratched, etc) for what they are asking.
Hoping to get a better deal here and from a trustworthy source.

Also, anyone can tell me of known issues to look out for, or parts that are no longer available, in case I run into a potential "for parts only" opportunity.
Sellers seem to mention very often the loud humming under load, not sure how loud it really is, but seems like a "normal".
One seller says the humming at 60% load gets louder than the internal fan running.
Also I see quite a bit of bashed in broken meters, not sure how fixable those are, if only the side mounting ears break off and can be reattached.

I spoke to someone at NPL who said that to measure low-loss liquids, you do indeed need a resonance technique, and look at the Q with and without the liquid. The Q would be calculated from the 3 dB bandwidth. The basic point I was trying to make is that you can't measure the low-loss liquids by measuring the impedance with an LCR meter. There's a large document from NPL I have cited before on this topic.

When I worked for E. I. DuPont Co. 30 years ago, we had a coaxial fixture made from brass, that had a connection on the bottom (banana pins?) that plugged into the top of a Hp 4342A Q meter. With a standard coil to establish resonance, we could measure low loss dielectric fluids quite accurately.

Android deals with PDF files just fine, but when corporations to stupid things with pass-through pages (like the one linked below), sometimes phone/tablet browsers do stupid things with those.

I see there are at least a few hams here, so undoubtedly you will know about radio repeaters, and the duplexers (filters) they use to allow simultaneous transmission and reception with only one antenna.? The tuning rod in duplexer cavities is made of invar, which is 36% nickel and 64% iron.? Invar has a low thermal coefficient of expansion, and is used so the frequency of the cavity won't drift as the temperature changes.? I know of mountaintop repeater sites locally where the ambient temperature can vary at least 50¡ã C. with the seasons.? There are other similar alloys such as Inovco and FeNiCo that also have low coefficient of expansion.? HP says the electrode is nickel plated cobalt (Fe 54%, Co 17%, Ni 29%).? I'd guess thermal coefficient of expansion is one of the reasons for this choice, perhaps combined with corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, and HP-only-knows what else.

HP 8643a Power Supply capacitors

 

Hi All,

I have an HP 8643a that still has the 4 (thats as many as I can find) RIFA caps in the PSU.? One 0.047 X2 has already gone to smokey RIFA heaven and I replaced it with as close as I had and all is fine at the moment but I really would like a schematic to make sure I am replacing the right values.? Any advice on what I should be replacing them with would be appreciated.? ?thanks in advance.
