Re: FS: PART OUT: HP 8620 Sweeper, 86222A 0.01-2.4 GHz Plug in (CROSS POST with "test equip...FS" group).
开云体育I literally gave away several 8620A’s at hamfests, hoping Roy didn’t trip over one of mine! I have one lone 8620C with 2-18GHz plug in and maybe anther plug in or two, and several scales. Every now and then I fire it up for sentimental reasons!Steve WB0DBS EM17iq09ao On May 3, 2024, at 8:42?PM, Roy Thistle via groups.io <roy.thistle@...> wrote:

Re: Attenuator "O" Rings
Is the attenuator the same form factor as the 8568/8566 attenuator - HP 33321A? If so the attenuator o-rings are spelled out in the 8566 attenuator notes on this site. They are n-butyl rubber and are available from Apple Rubber Co. In New York. They may also still be available from Keysight.

As far as I can tell (from the pics)... it's an 8620A... and getting a scale to match the plug in is not a "... minor issue." (at least it wasn't for me.)
Am I missing something... or is there something special about this particular 8620. (Owned by Bill Hewlett?) Despite the well staged, and sumptuous color photos... it looks like any other clapped out 8620X, one used to trip over at a ham fests.? |

Can I do it without taking it out of the rack? Oh yes, also...these boards are 7.5MB; didn't you mention earlier that the 3852A wouldn't address that much RAM? -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA |

Same here. It's pretty likely you'll find your size if you get one of those kits.? On Fri, May 3, 2024, 4:55 PM Mark Bielman via <mbielman=[email protected]> wrote:

FS: PART OUT: HP 8620 Sweeper, 86222A 0.01-2.4 GHz Plug in (CROSS POST with "test equip...FS" group).
Howdy folks, ? ?I am selling the subject line parts, and I understand this group is not primarily for selling stuff, but it *IS* for? repairing equipment.? ?Since I am willing to part out the sweeper, I figured I would quickly post a link to it here in case anyone is looking for parts.? ?There are more details and pictures in my original post here: ? To keep down the clutter, I'll take any responses THERE, not in this group.? ?Thanks! ?Dan |

BOONTON 8900B PEAK POWER CALIBRATOR
Hi all, i appreciate this isnt a HPAK instrument but being Boonton it kinda is :) Has anyone got a full service manual for these please. Ive managed to find one online but it doesnt have a circuit diagram. I also have a pdf of Boontons no35 notebook? by G.Raymond. Polen who designed the instrument, but id really like the full manual if possible and it will save me trying to draw out the circuit by hand. ? And definatly off brand topic, has anyone any details/specs on a Marconi TM9701 VHF/UHF Detector, test accessory. Its an accessory with both a positive and negative output via seperate diodes. Id like to test it but manufacturers specs would be handy. Many thanks in advance Pete Harrison. |

Hi Don,
Your statement that Motorola handled I/O well, but Intel didn't, puzzles me. Would you care to elaborate? -Chuck Harris On Fri, 3 May 2024 19:26:48 +0000 (UTC) "Don Bitters via groups.io" <donbitters@...> wrote: Way back when instrument control was the "Thing" in the |

Re: Is it worth looking for a R/3*2 Instrument Controller? - Feedback request
Way back when instrument control was the "Thing" in the instrumentation world. The HP controllers were focused on I/O control (Motorola based, PA RISC, etc.) (9825A, 9830A, 9845A, series 9000/200, 300, 500, 700, C110, C180, C270). PC based (Intel, etc.) generally did not handle I/O well, at least for instrument control.?
HP Basic was a great tool and generally established the market for instrumentation control, especially when they gave it to the marketplace. It evolved and then HP was splitting itself into Agilent (instruments) and become a computer company (ies) and HP ported HP Basic to HP-UX, then a little later dropped support for HP Basic.? HT Basic created/ported HP Basic to the Intel platform and the rest is history. Don Bitters |
