Re: HP11729C 640 MHz magic cable?
Ah, thanks for that!? I shall try messing with the cable length then until it takes off ...? 1.9nS is arounf 400mm of cable at vf=0.7 ... the one shown in the manuel is much shorter, so maybe it is

HP 16500C looking for logic analyser boards that are functional
I have an HP 16500C logic analyser. Actual unit tests fine in the diagnostics but unfortunately the two 16557D cards in it have suffered the green death and fail diagnostics. Does anyone have any of

Re: HP 5315A With Destroyed Gate Pot and "frozen" Frozen Knob
While all of the liquid suggestions may help, you? may want to try one or two mechanical hacks.? Beg borrow or steal an "easy out" ( a commercial version of the previously mentioned cement nail)

Re: HP11729C 640 MHz magic cable?
Hi Matt, I don't know if I have a picture of what is inside the copper box but I built an attenuator with SMD resistors. In one leg of the pi-network I also added a 50-ohm matched tap to take out the

Re: HP boxes: direction of air flow
In the general case, higher velocity air will drag more dust with it so if no dust filter, then fan should exhaust the enclosure. [email protected]> wrote:

A or B? The B EPROMs are on ko4bb.com, at least for "Option H18," whatever that is. I don't think I've seen the A firmware floating around. I just uploaded the standard 8970B firmware. Thought it

Your average big box store (around here) or pet supply store has filters for air systems or litterboxes.? Those filters are granulated carbon and relatively inexpensive.? Air filters for HVAC

The filter foam is called reticulated foam. It's sometimes sold as fish filter foam (even though that's filtering water) but it doesn't follow that all fish filter foam is usable for air filters. It's

I did extensive numerical studies and found I could invert the 1D heat equation for multiple flows such that the prediction accuracy was 1-2% error for a period equal to the recorded data. That

Re: HP11729C 640 MHz magic cable?
Hi Robin, I built such a cable. As you said output is 11dBm-13dBm, input is 1dBm-4dBm level. Cable needs to provide ~ 9dB attenuation so that the output after going through attenuator provides >=1dBm

Kroil, or Kano Kroil, is a very good penetrating oil that has been around for decades. If the knob is Bakelite or other material that will not melt, turn the setscrew hole upward, put a couple drops
