Re: eBay buyer protections are poor
Same with large electrolytics. At least 50% of those coming from the far east on EBay are shameless fakes. In a large aluminum can nicely labeled Nichicon 10,000uF/63V you usually find a 100uF/35V no

This isn't about giving negative feedback, or filing a counterfeit merchandise thing with ebay. This is about why I won't name the scammer that sold me counterfeit batteries on this or any other

Re: HP8593A Power Supply repair
No guarantees on this schematic. Best thing that I could come up with for these spectrum analyzers. HP / Agilent / Keysight seems to want to keep these things a secret. John, Vista, CA WB6IQS

Re: Recommendations for a synthesized 20GHz+ RF gen
The later version 8341Bs are almost always convertible to 8340Bs but not so the A versions and the earlier Bs for that matter. The only issue you might have is to get the level flatness and output

It's actually documented in the 8340/8341 service manual under "Calibration Constants". If you are lucky, you will find a printout of your instrument's calibration constants inside, in a pouch. That

HP8110A 150 MHz pulse generator
Looking at the resuscitation of the HP8110A pulse generator. Saving it from the dump. Anyone have a pro or con on this unit. Service manual has no schematic, but clear description at block level.

Vladan, Would you mind sharing where I could find information on pushing the 8341 to 26.5GHz? Siggi, I agree with Vladan, the 8341 is heavy but it seems like a very robust machine. Looking inside it

On the subject of ebay batteries. I needed some lithium cells of the standard 18650 size. There are tons for sale on ebay. Wanting the highest capacity I could find, I naively bought a dozen 9800mAh

Re: Recommendations for a synthesized 20GHz+ RF gen
If you don¡¯t need precision look at an 8350B mainframe and 83592B sweeper plug-in. It will run in CW mode and an EIP frequency counter can be used for more precision (.01 to 20GHz and other plug-ins
