Re: Rear Cables for HP-8568B SA & Display Unit Needed
Gah, you can pay more for the cables than the SA. It is possible to make them up yourself, if a bit tedious. The bus cable is not straight through, but it is documented in the service manual. The

Those cables are usually dear. Here is one source for both cables: http://www.glkinst.com/cables/hp_cables.htm#856x Otherwise, you should keep an eye out on ebay for a possible good deal that

Unknown HP CRTs
Gang, I have found a couple of NOS HP CRTs and I can find very little info on them. I suspect they are from old oscilloscopes. They are 5083-5072 and HAR 81149. Does anyone know what equipment used

HP Transistor 1854-0404

Thanks Ed, I have sorted out a few things. The drawings in the manual of A9 are back view but can be mistaken for front views because the transistors are drawn that way. This makes the schematic

I just noticed the original posting - it looks like the frequency is reasonably close, but amplitude is way off. Depending on the band (N), it could just be that alignment is needed, once the basic

Re: HP 83592B hangs 8350B sweeper
I agree - YIG coil loads on the supply may be dragging it down. But first, does it produce the right frequency at lower settings where the problem doesn't show? This would confirm that the coil drive

Re: HP 85047A (S-param test set) with loose Port1
The test sets were designed this way on purpose. There are test fixtures with a fixed spacing that are designed to mate with the front panel of the 85047, and one port had to have some slop so that

Good thought Dave, this is where I¡¯m headed next but it is difficult without a proper schematic. My manual (download) has a whole lot of extra stuff at the end of the manual that I did not print.
