Re: Service manual scan post processing
I've tried a panoramic photo tool on both scans and photographs, but the
results were unsatisfactory.
I've had to resort to using gimp on the posterised tiff files, or just

Re: HP 8670B amplifier - does it ring a bell with anyone?
By the look of the case it seems to be made similar to the 8349B microwave amplifier. Or at least they reused the case from that one and I guess the electronics are similar to the 8449A (2-22GHz) also

Hi.
Me thinks that could be one of the broadband "distributed amplifier"

Possibly not as high a gain as you quote, but very wide bandwidth and very
flat response. Probably

I have done a huge amount of scanning, converting and OCRing over the last 30+ years so I will offer a viewpoint.
I use the free program Irfanview to do any post processing I need, plus change

Thank you, F1EKU.
When I have access to unit (I am about 100km away most of the time), I will take detailed photo as you show. I plan bring my (2-18 GHz) Wiltron 610D/6237D sweep generator and
