Re: 00105-6013 HP crystal oscillator wanted
Some pictures for reference (from expired ebay listing) of the 18011 oscillator & the extra boards, I can't comment any further as I haven't got one of these. David

Re: Old style oval HP power cords
I just tried this, and not well. Probably works well enough to test something if you're in a bind, but doesn't look good as a permanent solution. The other solution is to get some socket pins and mold

you change the chassis receptacle to match - I have done this myself so not to have odd cables or at the time unobtanium....although sometimes ya has to stick to the original... Ren¨¦e

How would that work? The Belden uses round pins/sockets whereas the IEC uses flat pins/sockets. Thanks, Barry - N4BUQ

Re: Old style oval HP power cords
I did run across a post from Dale Cook where he says you can often shave down a standard IEC cord to fit and it will have the correct configuration. I'm going to give that a try. It's less work than

Thanks for several useful suggestions! 3D printing I did not think about as I lack a good friend with a printer and haven't so far created anything. I have at least 5 different kits including one from

What I liked ot use is polyethelyene foam such as this on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/133242222584? ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/133242222584 ) I find that it is very easy to cut, robust, and I

Re: Cal Kit inserts
How about 3D printing the support, then surrounding it with foam as cushioning? ? (furniture seat covering foam seems reasonable). Foam never touches parts. Harvey

Not much shock protection with most 3D printed materials. What did he use? I'm a fan of low density polyethylene foam for this application.

Re: Cal Kit inserts
I had a nice 3.5 mm cal kit which suffered from foam deterioration. A friend with a 3D printer designed a very nice and clever insert that will probably outlast the wood box. Probably the best
