Re: 8566B attenuator fix

I did not see any of the leaf switches (which interrupt the current after switching) in this attenuator - do they rely on a current limit to protect the coil or is the drive a pulse ? Did I simply miss something? Is this version of the attenuator more reliable in your opinion? Cheers! Bruce Quoting "Don Bitters via groups.io" <donbitters@...>: The attenuator drive is on A16 brd. in the RF section. It is a current drive to the solenoids in the attenuator. Re: 8566B attenuator fix
The attenuator drive is on A16 brd. in the RF section. It is a current drive to the solenoids in the attenuator. The attenuator is 10dB, 20dBa, 20dBb, 20dBc sections.
The attenuator steps are: 0dB = bypass all pads 10dB = 10dB in, bypass all 20dB pads 20dB = bypass 10dB pad, 20dBa in, bypass 20dBb, 20dBc pads 30dB = 10dB, 20dBa in, bypass 20dBb, 20dBc pads 40dB = bypass 10dB, 20dBa pads, 20dBb in, 20dB in 50dB = bypass 20dBa, 10dB in, 20dBb in, 20dB in 60dB = bypass 10dB, all 20dB pads in 70dB = all pads in The pads inside the attenuator are from input to output 10dB, 20dBa, 20dBb, 20dBc. The truth table is in the RF section manual and on the A16 schematic. Don Bitters |
Re: 8490XX step attenuator mating connector
It looks like IDC - should be easy to find.

I think that is an IDC header connector 10 pin with 2.54mm pitch.

Re: Tracking Generator Board 5062-8282 CLIP
I have a CLIP for the 5062-8232 LODA control, and the 5063-0635 Tracking generator control.
They are both part of the 8590E-L-CLIP scan that I purchased from Artek media. Talk to them I'm sure they can help. ? The scans they sell are worth the money, better than anything you will find at Keysight or other 'free' places... |
HP 85865B Signal Monitoring Software for HP 8566B, 8567A, 8568B, 71000 Modular Series, and 8562A Portable
Hello all,
I am new here and this will be my first post. I discovered the beauty of HP meters a few years ago. Since then I have built up a collection. I want to control my devices via HP-IB and I use a HP85B with EBTKS card. Now I have a HP9000/310 and I am looking for the HP 85865B signal monitoring software for my HP8568B and HP8566B. I would put the HP catalog page in the attachment.?
?
Who knows this software and maybe still has original disks?
?
In general I am interested in any software for HP devices.
?
Thanks and many greetings
Rudolf

Re: 5086-7337 *Yig Oscillator issue*
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi do you have the service manual with the ?CCT¡¯s ??? If not you will find the A version in the files on this site including the CCT By the way you are working on an A version are all the parts you have used for an A version I don¡¯t think it is an issue but worth checking ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of RubenRubio ? I made this plugin out ot two separated parts sets: one comprises everything but A1, A2, keyboard and front panel. The second set includes the boards and mechanical parts I needed to complete the puzzle plus some extra chassis parts, SYTM, PMI and other microcircuits, also extra A3 board without ROMs and A10 motherboard. As I told in the earlier posts in this very thread, there's is no output?neither on the auxiliary output nor on the direct output of the oscillator. And the signal and supplies are present in the YO board test points.?In my eagerness to check the whole set, I have referred back to the YO driver.? Attachments: |

When I was about 22 I rebuilt a 8620 Sweeper that arrived in kit form then found a 2 to 18 Ghz plug in

Option HO so it went to 22 Ghz so this was more difficult to set up and took several days to get working having to set up the 2 yig driver borders please note the borders where originally matched the yigs in the unit NB the sweeper mainframe power supply must be within the limits including the ripple before you set up any Yigs so sorry the answer to your question could the wrong yig driver PCB stop the yig from working is YES concentrating on the master yig you have to go through the set up procedure when this is working to within specification limits you can go onto the multiplier chain HP supplied the replacement yig for the 18 Ghz plug in used in the 8620 it came with a new driver PCB also a new SOT resistor for the FM modulation sensitivity -----Original Message-----

Re: Agilent E3610A Operator Faux Pas or Production Change
Unfortunately this video is 11 years old so possibly too late but Dave at EEVblog had the unit you need and vice versa:?
His power supply had a Magtek 9100-4959.? You could have made a swap, except for that cost of shipping problem.? Thought the video might be entertaining if it hasn't already been mentioned. Clay |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Ruben ? I thought I asked this question but apparently not on looking at the history , sorry if I am going over old ground You have made the unit out of 2 units and no output on the Aux socket on the back panel the big question hear again from memory But is the yig PCB the matching one for the yig in the sweeper as they are individually set to the yig and as a service item ?supplied as PCB and YIG together When you have the Maine yig giving output There should be a lineariser PCB with lots of pots on it this should be the yig multiplier PCB again you MUST have the matching board as they are individually set up to the Yig The PCB can be realigned but it could take about 3 hours the first time you do it with all the messing about with fixed resisters etc I assume you have the Full Service manual including CCT ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of RubenRubio ? Hello everyone! |
Re: 5086-7337 *Yig Oscillator issue*
Sorry I haven¡¯t looked at the manual but the Aux output on the rear of the plugin should be the raw Yig output before it goes to the Multiplier / Yig filter

As I often use this output to phase lock the sweeper when in CW mode from memory it goes to an amplifier then to the Multiplier / Yig filter I have had the Amplifier fail in the past and HP kindly repaired it for me it was a special option plug in (22 Ghz) the other problem is the Multiplier / Yig filter Bias and tracking In the past I have use 2 or 3 decade resister boxes to set up tracking Paul -----Original Message-----

Confirm: 1) The YIG main coil CURRENT is consistent with the frequency - somewhere in the service literature there will be a specification of ma/GHz 2) The remaining volgages for the YIG Oscillator and Amp voltages - should be listed in the service literature. 3) The path from the YIG to where ever you are measuring the RF is intact and not shorted or open - probably reasonable to disconnect the YIG output, attach an attenuator (10-20 dB) and measure the output directly 4) Inspect the YIG board for broken connections (measure voltages at the YIG pins directly), damaged components (particularly the variable resistor if there is one), or other obvious problems. 5) Also, be sure your power measuring setup is working and properly connected :-) - Defects in measuring equipment can lead to some real trips "down the rabbit hole " Check the YIG output at several points in the basic frequency range - some YIG failures show up at either the Low or high end of the range. Cheers and hope it works out well. Cheers! Bruce Quoting RubenRubio <rubenrb2019@...>: I got it |
