Years ago a tech replaced a suspected bad?backup battery in a PC.? But what he didn't know was that the one removed was a rechargeable type.? He installed a non-rechargeable in its place.? It took about a day before the explosion happened.? Fortunately the traces on the board where the hole appeared were able to be jumpered across and things got working again - after another rechargeable battery was installed.
