Eiger Linear PCMCIA MEMORY Flash PC Card
Hi,
There used to be a demo 30 day verson of MCE. looks like it is still available
but I've not tried this site. Use precautions, virus scan etc. There are other sites offering downloads.
MCE does not need an ELAN interface. An old laptop with PCMCIA built in and running Win XP is your best bet. The Ebay USB reader probably only works in ATA mode i.e. is basicall a USB to PATA adaptor with a PCMCIA socket and thus won't recognise your Linear Flash. The card you have is suitable for back-up but as I said before the 89xB series do not support writing to FLASH or other kinds of PROM, they can only write to NV-RAM cards. They can
read RAM, NV-RAM, ROM, PROM and LINEAR FLASH.
Don't pay Syncrotech for MCE there is no indication they have the right to sell it and they offer no support.
