Hello,
I have an HP83592A (SN:2718A02469) where the internal LO (A11, cavity oscillator) for band 0 (0.01 to 2.4 GHz) isn't locking to the correct frequency. It is supposed to be locked to 3.800 GHz so that the YTO can be mixed down from 3.81 to 5.20 in order to get band 0 at 0.01 to 2.4 GHz.?
Rather than locking to 3.800 GHz, it seems to be locking to either 3.518 or 3.830 GHz. I measure this by observing the YTO output (at the AUX port) and the actual RF signal, which is then off by either +282 MHz or -30 MHz (the YTO is within spec).
I have checked voltages to the unit and they are OK at +20.0 V and -9.95 V. Output level is not checked, but since the output RF signal is fine in level, I expect the level of the oscillator to be at least reasonable.?
Has anyone experience with this module or seen this before? The A11 oscillator sits in the middle of the unit so it is not easily accessed. Is there any tuning possible? The service manual does not provide any recommendations as I can see.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
Regards,
