Calibration of 4285A Precision LCR meter 75 kHZ to 30 MHz. 0.1%

Dr. David Kirkby from Kirkby Microwave Ltd

I bought a 4285A which arrived today. I downloaded the last calibration document on the instrument from 2012.?
(It is handy being able to do this, even if you did not pay for the calibration.)

If was received at Agilent in spec and left in spec. But several things don't make sense to me:

1) The resistor, 04285-61001, which is one of the accessories supplied with a new 4285A, and used at various points for lead length correction, was not listed on the calibration certificate. I would assume, that since the resistor is supplied with the meter, and needed for correct operation of the meter, its calibration would be checked. But I don't see that listed.??

Maybe the resistor was not returned.?

2) The calibration certificate lists under "Calibration Equipment Used", a 42030A Standard Resistor Set. But there is not a single result on the calibration certificate for any of the resistors in that kit, which range from 1 milli ohm to 100 k ohm. There are plenty of results from the capacitor set used.?

3) The calibration certificate makes reference? to a "20 cm AIR LINE", but it is not listed in the "Calibration Equipment Used.?

I just paid $1650?for the 4285A on eBay, so I will send to Keysight for calibration. It is too much money to risk getting a duff instrument. The calibration cost is quite modest.?
