My experienced with ebay is also bad.? While not electronics related the LAST two items I bought through ebay were grossly "not as described".? Both were rather pricey and both claimed "Buyer Protection" near the pricing information.
In the interest of brevity, my experience was that the "buyer protection" claim was not worth the bandwidth used to claim it!? ebay, in essence told me to "go take a hike" in both cases, refused to lift a finger to arbitrate the claim and told me that "I should have known better than to expect "buyer protection" on such old items, the fact that it was clearly stated notwithstanding!
Well...I DID take a hike!? I closed my user account, deleted all activities related to ebay and will not even log into their site to use as a price or availability reference.
While it is true that the items were old, it was their claim of assistance if needed, clearly posted by the pricing information, that induced me to take a chance on those purchases and BOTH times I got "BIT"
For the past 4+ years, ebay has been nothing more than a bad memory for me and I fully expect to keep it that way!? I don't trust them any further than I could throw their entire corporate office complex!
