If you think it's bad now, you should have been using it years ago, when
sellers
could hit you with retaliatory negative feedback. Claims for non-delivery or
not
what you ordered were non-existent.

e_Bay has come a long way, even to the point where the sellers now complain
about
unfair treatment.

The purchase was a trivial one, a small item from China. However, my
experience with Ebay is indicative of their policies.

They gave me an estimated max delivery time of about 4-8 weeks. As 8 weeks
is very long even for a Chinese item, I tried to complain at 6 weeks but
their system would not allow it. It took until two days after the last
expected delivery date before their system would even allow me to open a
case. Most of their links are useless help pages and it takes a bit of
searching to find the actual link. This seems to be to discourage filing a
claim.

Today I found out the seller is suspended. But still, I had to send a
message requesting a refund and wait 4 days (actually 6 as they don't count
weekends) for a response. My previous messages direct to the seller don't
count. Once this time passes I am "eligible to escalate" the case.

I find this to be poor support of buyers. It seems likely now the seller was
suspended for non-delivery, so to make everyone jump through a series of
hoops is just a waste of time.

Hamfests and these groups are looking better all the time.
