The person I helped with this problem in 2013 ultimately removed his chips and installed the two chips referred to in the link below.? IIRC, one of the problems with the ¡®direct replacement¡¯ approach was finding chips that were, in fact, direct pin for pin compatible. ? With the ¡®two chip¡¯ approach, you wind up with a board that is ¡®original¡¯, sort of, since it was one of the ¡®original options¡¯ for the unit.?
