Re: 8753C Source problems....probably the YTO, but....

Hi all,

?

I am ?fighting¡° with a similar problem.

I already did order from a Chinese supplier a spare YIG for 799$.

I got it did mount it but it did not work inside my 8753B.

A test directly at the output of the YIG did show no rf power at all.

In the meantime I got a testcircuit f¨¹r such YIG¡¯s.

I should get the money back after return.

The YIG did show a seal from Agilent that it is OK. The date was not clear to see.

It seems to be something like 1995???

With these instructions:

Connect +/-15V, +5V.

?

Connect power supply via 20-50 ohms resistor to the Coil.

No need to connect the FM coil.

?

Monitor the power supply current, and the YTO output on spectrum analyzer.

?

?

Output power should be 10dbm min, +15dbm typ

I do not see a pin 9.

The trimpot may adjust the heating but I have no instruction about it.

Probably somebody has a schematic(s) of the different variations of the PCB of the YIG.

Many different part numbers should work:

5086-7718

5086-7934

5086-7906

5086-7473 Thats to official one for the 8753B

(inside my 8753B is mounted a 5086-7718! wihich has power drop problem at lower frequencies)

I hope these informations help you.

Best Regards

Armin
