I bought a Marconi signal generator for part or repair (I hope the
latter when I get around to it) from Israel. The packaging was
excellent, postage quite reasonable and it arrived speedily without any
damage, as described. I was very happy with the deal. I'm in Australia
but I assume it would be the same to other countries. I guess in the end
you grits your teeth and takes your chances.

For anyone in the UK who may be interested, I just put a hp 8558B plugin
up on ebay. The description means what it says. It's been a while since it
was powered and I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with
it but I cannot guarantee that it all works as it should, so consider it
"spares or repair".
